Blinder is a turnkey solution for setting up and scheduling “blind” calls without having to give out sensitive information such as clients’ personal phone numbers or going through several back and forth communications to make sure calls actually happen at their agreed upon time. It also requires no downloading of any kind.

The web-based technology is currently being used by Olympic athletes and Grammy winners and was built to work for any sector that publicists or comms managers may represent. Blinder’s intuitively designed dashboard makes it possible to effortlessly set up calls (on any timezone) and set reminders via text and/or email for all parties involved. The scheduling system can facilitate making adjustments on-the-fly and will notify callers of any changes. Blinder can also record and store audio from the call in the cloud to access at a later date. Publicists no longer need to make time to be on calls while taking notes or do follow ups to make sure the calls actually took place and find out what was discussed.

Blinder came about when New Zealand-based sports publicist Caley Wilson needed a workable solution to setup and coordinate numerous interviews with the many athletes he represented. In his experience, he says, “The entertainment industry really valued privacy, so numbers weren’t shared – but there was a feeling that a lot of unnecessary energy was going into arranging calls. Many pro sports teams were sharing their athletes’ personal numbers, but they felt that was increasingly an inappropriate way to operate.”

“Allows us to centralise and streamline interview schedules for our artists, without relying on a middle man or giving out the artist’s personal number.” -Ashley Page, Page 1 Management (ex Warners, manager of Broods, Joel Little)

“Would fully recommend to all publicists in any industry.” – Teresa Patterson, CRS Music Management + Chairperson MMF New Zealand

“Love Blinder. Has actually changed my life in terms of phoners.” -Nicole Thomas, Nicnak Media (ex Warners)

“The easiest and most carefree way to arrange media calls.” – Frank Varrasso, Varrasso PR (ex Sony)

“May have been one of the first people they tested it with (humble brag) and my official review: It’s awesome. Highly recommended.”  Janine Russell, Noise PR
