“I understand the power of music & how it can affect people.”
Sickick is the Toronto-based electronic artist surrounded by secrecy. Performing behind a mask, he attributes to his laser-focused commitment to the music, rather than the need to promote an identity based on physicality, ethnicity, race or culture. His masked appearance makes a powerful statement about stereotypes and music genres. Breaking down tradional genres Sickick creates a unique blend of dark sounded R&B with a blend of melodic dance music into his own genre “Sickhop”.
Sickick has remixed everyone from iLoveMakonnen “Tuesday” ft. Drake, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”, Rihanna’s “Work” and more. His remixes and original work has allow him to open for Drake last year, and is making waves with 15M+ views on YouTube and 4M+ plays on SoundCloud.
Sickick’s real identity remains unknown, but the lyrics and production of his latest track “No Games,” reveal there’s definitely a millennial human under there. The song is a melodic ode to a relationship challenge we can all relate to.
